Skip Bags: The Waste Removal Bags
Read Time: 4 mins
Skip Bags are a flexible, fixed-price and aesthetically-friendly alternative to hiring a skip. These waste removal bags are purpose-built to enable rubbish to be collected from your home. You can fill our Skip Bags at your convenience at any point within a six-month period; a much longer time-frame than with a skip and with tidier and more secure waste items than if you were waiting for a ‘Man and Van’.
If you already know what you want from your Skip Bag and you are happy to jump straight to ordering your rubbish removal, then use our hassle-free online booking services or contact us here at Clearabee. For those who aren’t so sure, what are waste collection bags and how do they work?
Skip Bags: What are they?
Skip Bags are poly-woven bags which are custom-built for rubbish removal. They are becoming increasingly popular and are used to remove almost all waste streams in both domestic and commercial settings. Skip Bags are strong, extremely durable and available in a range of sizes, making them suitable for small garden clearances, all the way up to bathroom rip-outs and refurbishments.
Due to their low weight when empty, Skip Bags pose less risk of causing damage to your property than a standard skip, but allow your waste to be tidily contained whilst waiting to be removed. Our stylish skip bags look much better sitting on your driveway than a skip would too.
How do Skip Bags work?
Firstly, you can simply order your Clearabee Skip Bag over the phone or via our hassle-free online booking system. When ordering, you have the option to buy the bag on its own, or alongside a collection. If bought with a collection, then you have six months from the point of purchase to arrange your named-day collection and we will come and collect the rubbish from your home as arranged. If you buy the bag outright, you can simply get in touch and book a collection at any point that suits you.
Our Skip Bags are usually delivered during the next working day and come in a flat-packed, rolled or folded state. This means that you can store them away tidily until you want to start filling them. You can even take them to a different address to fill them as long as you let us know of any changes when it comes to the collection.
Upon collection, we will empty your Skip Bag in the most economic and environmentally friendly way. This means that we might send a ‘Man and Van’ clearance team rather than a grab lorry if the circumstances are appropriate so please, take the time to discuss with us what rubbish you want removing. In any case, filled Skip Bags need to be positioned within four metres of the road and easily accessible so they can effectively be collected.
What can be put in a Skip Bag?
Skip Bags can be used to dispose of almost every waste stream that can be removed with either our Skip Hire or our ‘Man and Van’ clearance service. Our Small Skip Bags are suitable for garden waste such as bricks, rubble and soil whereas our Medium and Large sizes are not suitable for this waste stream due to exceeding the weight restrictions associated with the lorry.
Our Medium and Large Skip Bags are able to contain renovation and construction waste as long as it doesn’t protrude above the level fill line. These bags can also be used to get rid of single, bulky items such as armchairs, wardrobes and garden furniture.
However, hazardous waste cannot be removed via either a Skip Bag, Skip Hire and ‘Man and Van’ clearance services, but in these instances, you should contact Clearabee in the first instance as we may be able to provide a bespoke solution.
What size is a Skip Bag?
As the name suggests, our Mini Bags are our smallest available Skip Bags and are able to contain 25 kg worth of rubbish per bag or alternatively, 42 litres in volume. Tipping the scales at the opposite end are our Large Skip Bags which are a whopping 210cm x 165cm x 100cm, or 4.5 cubic yards. These Large Skip Bags can contain 1500kgs worth of waste items. In between these options are our Small and Medium Skip Bags and their dimension are also available on our pages for our Skip Bag rubbish removal services.
Skip Bags: how much do they cost?
Clearabee’s Mini Bags sit at the lower end of the price range and cost £4.99 for a roll of 10 bags. There’s a £3.99 delivery charge applicable and a collection of at least 3 bags costs £12.99. At the opposite end of the scale are our Large Skip Bags and the “bag and collection” option costs £219.99 with free delivery included. There are also Small and Medium Skip Bag options available and these prices are all available on our Skip Bag pages.
