How Much Does Rubbish Removal Cost?
Read Time: 4 mins
Quotes, costs and charges. They’re the things that no one really likes to talk about until the last possible moment. But here at Clearabee, we try to be as transparent as possible when it comes to waste clearance. So, let’s have a look at the cost of rubbish removal.
How much does a ‘Man and Van’ clearance cost?
If we’re talking about rubbish removals, then we’re talking about our most flexible and cost-effective rubbish removal service: our ‘Man and Van’ style clearances. These rapid reaction removals often operate on the very same day that they are booked and they begin with a call-out charge of £49.99.
Many customers find it easier to pay the call-out fee, then have our friendly field staff attend their property and assess the cost of the collection. In addition to the call-out fee, we charge £25 for each cubic yard of rubbish that needs to be removed.
These services start with the flat call-out fee and the collection of 1 cubic yard’s worth of rubbish (that’s approximately the size of 2 domestic washing machines), meaning that our smallest rubbish clearance costs £74.99. At the opposite end of the scale, our largest ‘Man and Van’ style clearances cost £199.99 and include the equivalent of a builder’s skips’ worth of waste.
This service is our most popular and it’s easy to see why. Have a look at our ‘Man and Van’ FAQs to find out more about this rubbish removal service.
How much does it cost to hire a skip?
Generally speaking, at the lower end of the price range, 8-yard builder’s skips in 2020 can cost anywhere between £156 and £189 for a 14-day hire period. Check out this guide to the average Skip Hire prices across the UK in 2020 for further details.
There are often additional costs involved with skip hire such as parking suspensions and skip permits which are dependent upon any restrictions in your locality. You can find answers to these questions and others in the following skip hire and skip permit FAQs.
How much do Skip Bags cost?
Skip Bags are much more straightforward when it comes to costings. Our fixed-price Skip Bags are a relatively new waste collection service which starts with our small Skip Bags. These are at a cost of £114.99 when bought along with the collection, which comes with free bag delivery.
At the other end of the scale are our large Skip Bags at a cost of £209.99, which includes the collection and free delivery of the bag. The collection aspect of the service is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and in the majority of cases, the collection will be made by an HGV.
Depending on what items you are having collected, you may be able to reuse your Skip Bag for future collections, making sure that your money goes that little bit further. This is dependent on discussing the items that you want to remove with our friendly office staff. Find out more about why Skip Bags are an increasingly popular alternative to skip hire in our Skip Bag FAQs.
How much does it cost to remove a sofa?
Much like our ‘Man and Van-style’ clearances, the cost of sofa removal begins with a flat rate call-out fee before you decide what furniture you want removed from your property. If it’s an armchair you’re looking to get rid of, the cost is £20 plus the £49.99 call-out fee, whereas a 4-seater or corner unit will cost £50 plus the £49.99 call-out fee.
We are also able to remove sofa beds or recliners at a cost of £40 plus the call-out fee. Clearabee can remove your unwanted sofa from inside your property and can even remove items from upstairs as long as it is safe to do so.
In most cases, we are able to remove your unwanted furniture on the very same day and you are able to place your order 24/7 via our hassle-free online booking service.
How much would it cost to have my bins emptied?
Our wheelie bin emptying service operates on a next-day basis. Orders placed before 10pm will be collected during the very next day, as long as the bins are left out before 8am. The cost of bin collections are £29.99 for a 140 litre wheelie bin, £34.99 for a 240L wheelie bin (the standard size across the UK) and £39.99 for a large 360 litre wheelie bin.
If you book regular private home wheelie bin collections, you will be able to access our Beeloyal programme, which gives you cashback on the other services we offer, such as our bulky waste clearances, sofa removals, skip hire and skip bag services.
Why you shouldn’t go for the cheapest rubbish removal
The costs associated with rubbish removal and waste clearances are not something that should be subject to compromise. If rubbish removal costs are looking too good to be true, then it’s probably because they are. Unfortunately, there are unreputable waste management companies out there who will take your money as well as your rubbish, before dumping it illegally.
What’s worse is that you, as the owner of the rubbish, might end up paying £50,000 or spending a 12-month prison sentence if the fly-tipped rubbish is proven to be yours. You could also be charged if you have not practiced due diligence when appointing your rubbish removals company and end up using an unregistered, or unscrupulous company.
With that in mind, it’s worth remembering that Clearabee provides a Waste Transfer Note for every completed clearance. This note forms part of your Duty of Care and details what rubbish has been collected, where it has been transferred to and the rate which was recycled/diverted from landfill. In short, you can have confidence in Clearabee.
Removing rubbish. It’s what we do.
