Chester skip permits
Clearabee can provide specialist advice on the circumstances of your skip hire, including whether or not you’ll require a skip permit.
Generally, you will require a skip permit in Chester if you need to position your skip on the road because you do not have the space on your property.
Chester parking suspensions
The city of Chester depends on skip hire for rubbish removal from a range of properties and premises. Not everyone has the space for a skip though, especially in more built-up areas.
However, Clearabee can acquire parking suspensions on your behalf so you can use a skip even if you don’t have the room.
FAQs
Chester skip hire FAQs
When thinking about skip hire, there are a few things to consider, including which skip is best for you, where you’ll place it and what you'll dispose of in it.
We discuss the main skips in our dedicated FAQ section, but we can hire out almost any type of skip when required.
The 4-yard ‘Midi’ is usually the smallest skip available in the UK. The next largest skips available are ‘Builders’ skips at 6 – 8-yards, while ‘Maxi’ and extra-large skips are 10 - 12 cubic yards.
The largest skips that we provide are commercial skips including lockable skips, enclosed skips and (RORO) containers. These are costed with a transport and tonnage rate with quotes provided upon request.
Standard household, bulky items and business waste can all be disposed of in a skip along with standard garden and construction waste. However, there are restrictions regarding which waste can go into each skip and which waste types can be mixed.
The following waste streams cannot be thrown in a skip without agreement with Clearabee:
White goods or large electrical items
Chemicals, paints, liquids and solvents
Hazardous waste streams such as fridges, TV’s and monitors
Food wastage
Plasterboard and gypsum waste
If you intend to place the skip on the public highway due to a lack of space on your property, you will need a skip permit from your local authority. The cost of the skip permit depends on the council involved but Clearabee can apply for your skip permit and add it to your order.
If you need to use a Pay and Display or permit-only parking space for your skip, you will need to acquire a parking suspension. Chester West and Chester Council will suspend the parking space and you will be charged on a day-by-day basis.
