Skip permits in Harlow
When you’re thinking about Harlow skip hire, you will also need to consider if you will require a skip permit.
Clearabee can advise on the requirements of your skip hire before applying for the permit as part of your order.
Parking suspension in Harlow
In towns such as Harlow, skip hire is essential for home improvements and office renovations, but finding the requisite room for a skip can be difficult.
Wherever you are situated in Essex, we can help you to obtain the parking suspensions you need. These will allow you to store your skip without your own drive or front garden.
FAQs
Harlow skip hire FAQs
If you’re considering skip hire, there are a couple of few things you should have a think about, including which skip is best for you, where you’re going to place it and what you're going to dispose of in it.
We discuss the main skips in our FAQ section, but we can hire out almost any type of skip if required.
The smallest skip usually available is a ‘Midi’ skip (4 cubic yards). Next up are 6 - 8 cubic yards ‘Builders’ skips, followed by ‘Maxi’ and extra-large skips ranging from 10 - 12 yards.
Larger still are specialist skips which include lockable skips and Roll On, Roll Off (RORO) containers. These are usually priced by transport and tonnage rate.
Although skips are a flexible waste removal solution, there are restrictions on what waste streams can go into each skip and which waste types can be mixed.
Generally, standard household waste, bulky items and business waste can be thrown into a skip, as well as standard garden and construction waste streams.
These items cannot be thrown away in a skip without prior arrangement:
White goods and large electrical items
Hazardous waste such as fluorescent lighting tubes, fridges, and TVs
Food waste
Plasterboard and gypsum waste
Chemicals and solvents
If the skip is going to sit on a public highway, you will need a skip permit. These are issued by your Harlow Council but the costs vary from place to place. In most cases, we can apply for a skip permit on your behalf and pass on the additional cost.
If you’re planning to place your skip in an area which has permit-only parking or if the parking space is Pay and Display, you will require a parking suspension in addition to a skip permit.
Parking suspensions are usually charged on a day-by-day basis and require the council to place a notice to suspend the parking space.
